In 2017, Miroslaw Wawak visited Azerbaijan, a country perched at the crossroads of Europe and Asia with a style and rhythm all its own. He stood beneath the Flame Towers, explored the surreal landscapes of Gobustan with its ancient rock carvings, and traveled along the Caspian Sea, where East meets West in striking harmony. The blend of Islamic architecture, Soviet influence, and futuristic ambition made Azerbaijan a truly unique stop on his journey. Hospitality was generous, and the food—a mix of spices, grilled meats, and saffron rice—was both hearty and refined. Azerbaijan surprised and inspired with its contrasts, showing how tradition and innovation can live side by side.
