About Tiraspol: Transnistria, officially the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic (PMR), is an unrecognised breakaway state internationally recognised as part of Moldova. Transnistria is mostly located in most of the narrow strip of land between the Dniester river and the Moldovan–Ukrainian border, although it also controls land on the rivers other bank. Its capital and largest city is Tiraspol. Transnistria has been recognised by only three other unrecognised or partially recognised breakaway states: Abkhazia, Artsakh and South Ossetia. Transnistria is officially designated by the Republic of Moldova as the Administrative-Territorial Units of the Left Bank of the Dniester (Romanian: Unitățile Administrativ-Teritoriale din stînga Nistrului) or as Stînga Nistrului (Left Bank of the Dniester) under Russian military occupation. // Tiraspol (Romanian: Tiraspol, Moldovan Cyrillic alphabet: Тираспол; Russian: Тира́споль tʲɪˈraspəlʲ; Ukrainian: Тираспіль tɪˈrɑspilʲ) is the capital of Transnistria (de facto), a breakaway state in Moldova (de jure), where it is the second largest city. The city is located on the eastern bank of the Dniester River. Tiraspol is a regional hub of light industry, such as furniture and electrical goods production. The modern city of Tiraspol was founded by the Russian generalissimo Alexander Suvorov in 1792, although the area had been inhabited for thousands of years by varying ethnic groups. The city celebrates its anniversary every year on 14 October. // Statue of Lenin, Church of the Nativity, City Hall, Stalinist Palace of Culture, Sheriff supermarket, city trolleybus, Suvorov Square
