CCTV Fears YouTube Termination – Apology Letter Received, Immediate Legal Action Escalated!
On April 27, 2025, CCTV (China’s state broadcaster) reached out directly to One Man Wolf Pack, formally acknowledging unauthorized use of multiple videos – and urgently pleading for a “cooperative solution” before their YouTube channel faces imminent termination.
Instead of negotiating or withdrawing any complaints, we immediately escalated the matter to YouTube Legal Support, attaching both CCTV’s written admission (received today) and the prior evidence from CCTV+ that no license ever existed. YouTube is now under maximum legal pressure to terminate the infringing channel – and this case is officially entering its final, historic phase.
⚖️ What happened?
⚖️ Why this matters:
This is a turning point not just for us, but for every creator fighting DMCA abuse, copyright fraud, and the power of state propaganda on global platforms. We are setting a precedent – and YouTube must now decide whose side it’s really on: Creators, or copyright infringers.
Stay tuned for the final act – and share this story to show your support for creators!
Over the past month, two European creators (Filip from “Amazing Planet” and myself, “One Man Wolf Pack”) have faced an unprecedented copyright war—one waged not by individuals or even ordinary companies, but by China’s state broadcaster CCTV. Instead of defending global creators, YouTube enabled the abuse, leaving us exposed to Beijing’s censorship and trampling on the rights of every independent creator in the world.
Twice in a single month, CCTV’s official YouTube channel triggered the “7-day grace period”—the infamous “404 Monkey Countdown”—by racking up at least three active copyright strikes. Under YouTube’s own rules, this triggers a channel lockdown: no new uploads, and seven days until permanent termination unless the matter is resolved.

But here’s the catch: CCTV escaped twice. Not by resolving the claims, but by filing legally groundless counter notifications that any honest review should have rejected instantly. YouTube accepted them, restored CCTV’s privileges, and left creators in the dust.
Just days later, YouTube confirmed even more copyright strikes—again locking the channel into the seven-day grace period. This time, the countdown ran for almost a full week, until less than 24 hours before the channel’s legitimate termination, when YouTube again accepted two more legally baseless counter notifications from CCTV. The result? No deletion, no consequences. The rules simply didn’t apply..
This is a global scandal: YouTube accepted multiple counter notifications from CCTV that had no legal basis whatsoever—letting the propaganda giant escape consequences not once, but twice, while smaller creators had their rights trampled.
YouTube’s process is supposed to protect creators, but here’s the reality: YouTube accepts counter notifications from CCTV that literally claim the takedown “lacks any legal basis.” Under US law (17 USC §512(g)), anyone who files such a counter notification is swearing, under penalty of perjury, that they are able to appear in a US court to defend their claim. Does anyone at YouTube seriously believe that a senior CCP official would show up in a San Francisco courtroom? Of course not. This is DMCA fraud, plain and simple.
Why does it matter? Because the law is only as strong as its enforcement—and YouTube is showing the world how easily it can be bought, bent, or ignored.
Between April 10 and April 26, 2025, Filip and I filed seven (7) copyright takedown requests against CCTV, all for using our footage without any license or credit. Two separate times, CCTV’s official channel was forced into “ban mode” for crossing the three-strike threshold. But YouTube kept restoring the channel after fraudulent counter-notifications, making the copyright enforcement system a global joke.
CCTV has openly and in writing admitted to using footage from Filip and me without any license or credit:
Every fact above is documented. YouTube just didn’t care.
Rather than protecting international creators, YouTube shelters China’s state propaganda machine. The message is clear:
If you’re a global creator, your rights mean nothing. If you’re a state broadcaster, you can break every rule, send a phony “legal” notice, and YouTube will let you off the hook.
What’s at stake? This is about more than money—it’s about trust, truth, and the future of the internet for independent creators. YouTube’s hypocrisy leaves all global creators vulnerable to censorship and theft.
That’s not a platform. That’s not neutrality. That’s complicity—and it sets a precedent that threatens every independent creator on Earth.
China’s abuse of the DMCA system exposes just how easy it is to game YouTube’s system. “Sworn statements” from China carry no risk of US court enforcement. For global creators, the result is frustration and helplessness—while state-backed media weaponize YouTube to spread propaganda and silence the real authors.
If YouTube is truly a global platform, why are the rules so easy to break for those with the right connections?
Filip and I are just two examples of a much deeper problem. YouTube’s process protects the powerful and leaves everyone else behind. Our story shows that the world’s biggest video platform will protect its profits, even if it means betraying the creators who make it what it is. But we’re not giving up. Every new case only makes the problem more visible—and proves why YouTube’s addiction to double standards is utterly broken.
The big scandal: Even with seven copyright strikes, YouTube shielded CCTV before YouTube finally stood up for creators and the rule of law, instead of Chinese state propaganda.
Unless change happens, we’ll keep exposing the system, while upholding the law, responsibility, and demanding justice. Enough is enough.
YouTube: Do better. Or get ready for more creators fighting back—publicly, globally, and together.
YouTube’s copyright system is broken—and China’s state media just proved it. Twice in a single month, CCTV racked up enough copyright strikes to get their official channel terminated. But instead of enforcing their own rules, YouTube accepted blatantly fraudulent counter-notifications, letting CCTV walk away and silencing the real creators.
This isn’t just about stolen footage from two European creators. It’s about YouTube’s willingness to protect state propaganda over global creative rights, even when the law is clear. From DMCA fraud to ignored evidence, our experience reveals a dangerous loophole that threatens every independent creator on the platform.
If YouTube won’t defend the law, who will? We’re fighting back—exposing the truth, demanding accountability, and calling for real change. Enough is enough.
